NHS partnership announces two additional events for public consultation

Two additional public discussion events have been announced by the NHS in mid and south Essex, as part of a consultation on proposed changes to some local services. A number of events have already been held across mid and south Essex and many people have booked places at the remaining events. Now two additional events have been arranged as follows:

Southend-on-Sea

6.30pm-8.30pm

Wednesday 7 March

Maritime Room, Cliffs Pavilion, Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex

Mid Essex

6.30pm-8.30pm

Thursday 8 March

Trinity St Mary’s School, Trinity Square, South Woodham Ferrers, Essex CM3 5JX

The five clinical commissioning groups (Thurrock CCG, Castle Point and Rochford CCG, Southend CCG, Mid Essex CCG and Basildon and Brentwood CCG) launched a formal public consultation before Christmas on outline plans for the future of health and care services. The proposals are a result of detailed work undertaken by clinical teams across health and care organisations to improve the services provided to the 1.2 million people living in mid and south Essex.

A simple animation has also been developed to help explain what the consultation is about. This can be seen at: http://bit.ly/STPanimation

Professor Mike Bewick, independent chair of the CCG Joint Committee, said: “We are thrilled so many people are engaging with this public consultation either through the survey itself or by attending these public discussion events. We continue to listen to local people and where there is clearly a demand for additional events we have made these arrangements. We are also continuing to attend smaller meetings, including resident associations or meetings of specific patient groups, and are collecting a wide range of views and comments.”
